Kemar Roofe has joined Ryan Jack on the treatment table with the season's first Glasgow derby with Celtic on the horizon.
The new signing from Anderlecht faces a sweat to be fit for the Parkhead clash after hobbling off injured during Gers' 5-0 win over Lincoln Red Imps in midweek. The club had hoped Roofe might be fit for this afternoon's game against Hibs at Easter Road, but he was not involved.
And manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed the attacker will miss the 'short-term' after an issue showed up in his scan. "He’s been sent for a scan," Gerrard told Rangers TV. "We originally thought it was a bit of tightness in his calf, he thought it was tightness in his calf.
"On assessment it was looking that way but something showed up so he’s going to be missing in the short term."
Roofe's injury comes at a bad time for the Light Blues who are already missing Jack with an injury as well as Joe Aribo who could be out longer term than the pair.
