Burnley are reportedly eyeing up a move for Celtic star Ryan Christie with a big money bid expected to land before the end of the transfer window.

The English Premier League side have been long time admirers of the attacking midfielder and the Daily Record now report that they are set to make their move.

Christie, 25, is currently under contract until the summer of 2022 at Parkhead, but it is understood that talks are underway regarding a new deal.

Neil Lennon doesn't want to sell the Scotland international, but if the money that Burnley put forward is right then the Hoops could be willing to talk.

Speaking yesterday Burnley boss Sean Dyche told how he was in desperate need of reinforcements.

He said: "We are always looking for creative players but they do cost a lot of money and that is not easy to come by here.

"But equally it starts with getting our squad back together.

"We are sort of five, six, seven players deep that are very experienced and important players. That makes the challenge harder

"But the players are working very hard and learning from each other. It isn't ideal.

"And we don't have any training time either because it is game after game and you don't have any time to mould the team and work with them because you are recovering, playing, recovering."
