HIBERNIAN are said to be preparing a bid for Motherwell midfielder Allan Campbell, believed to be around the £200,000 mark.

Campbell, 22, has enjoyed a superb start to the season and will surely be gathering admirers, particularly with the box-to-box midfielder's current deal at Fir Park due to expire at the end of the season.

The Daily Record believe that Stephen Robinson could be convinced to sell his prized asset rather than allowing the Under-21 internationalist to leave for nothing next summer, with Hibs set to test the water in the coming days with a bid.

The Easter Road club were pipped to the signing of Ross McCrorie by Aberdeen earlier on in the transfer window, with Jack Ross keen to add another central midfielder to his ranks.

On Monday, St Mirren announced that they had rejected a "substantial offer" from Hibs for midfielder Kyle Magennis, and as a result the Leith club have now turned their gaze towards Motherwell's star man.
