Celtic confirmed their spot in the Europa League with a 1-0 win over Sarajevo to enter the group stages of the competition.

Odsonne Edouard’s second-half goal proved the undoing of Sarajevo and took Celtic into the group stages of the competition.

And Neil Lennon’s side has been handed a boost before the first ball was even drawn.

Defeats from Viktoria Plzen, Wolfsburg, Basel and Sporting Lisbon meant that Celtic will enter the group draw in Pot ONE.

AEK Athens scored a 94th-minute winner to confirm the pots for Celtic.

While the overall number of qualification places and qualifiers played is based on the national coefficient, Celtic’s club coefficient, due to their success in the last five seasons in Europe, will see them in the top pot of the Europa League.

The Scottish champions will join the likes of Arsenal, Napoli, Tottenham and AS Roma in the top seeding pots.
