Celtic have enquired about Liverpool winger Harry Wilson ahead of a potential loan swoop.

The attacking playmaker has been allowed to leave Anfield, though his current club would prefer to sell on a permanent transfer. However, with no concrete bids on the table, the Reds could be more willing to allow a loan to save some cash on wages.

Wilson spent last season on loan at Bournemouth where he scored seven goals. The free-kick specialist reportedly has a £15million transfer price tag on his head, which would be out of Celtic's range.

Leeds Utd were linked with Wilson previously but they have now signed Raphinha from Rennes and are unlikely to move again for Liverpool's man.

Neil Lennon, meanwhile, still wants a left-back in the door to challenge Greg Taylor. Diego Laxalt is closing in on a loan from AC Milan while the Hoops have cooled interest in Alfie Doughty for the moment, understood to be waiting until January when they can offer him a pre-contract.
