Rangers are favourites to win this afternoon’s Old Firm derby.

That’s according to former Celtic striker Andy Walker.

The ex-Hoops hitman believes Steven Gerrard’s men can be considered the more likely winners at Parkhead this afternoon as the Gers boss has more of his top stars at his disposal.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has been dealt a tough hand with Covid-19 ruling out Nir Bitton, Hatem Elhamed and Ryan Christie - with Odsonne Edouard also unlikely to play.

Gers, meanwhile, have a near-full strength side with only Kemar Roofe and Joe Aribo likely to miss out. And Walker believes personnel could make a huge difference - though he refused to count out his former employers.

“Are Rangers favourites? I think so because they’ve got a stronger starting 11, probably,” he told Sky Sports.

“I think they’ve got a great deal of confidence, but never write off Celtic.

“This is a squad that have won the last nine championships, they know how to win games, they know how to win difficult European ties, they went to Lazio and won 2-1.

"They’re capable of coming up with a big performance, they’ve got [Scott] Brown, [Callum] McGregor, I think [Olivier] Ntcham will play in the middle of the park, so they’ve got a basis of a lot of players who have been over the course before and know what it takes to win big games. You would never rule them out.”
