AC Milan have been dealt a blow ahead of this week's Europa League clash against Celtic with Hakan Calhanoglu leaving training on crutches.
The former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder will miss Thursday evening's Group H game at Parkhead with what is believed to be a sprain which forced him out of training this afternoon.
Calhanoglu is considered a key man in Stefano Pioli's side and contributed an impressive six goals and eight assists for Milan since the lockdown and coronavirus-enforced shutdown of leagues. His form has also continued into this season where he has so far played seven club games, scoring four times.
The set-piece specialist will be a big miss for Milan, however, they will have Zlatan Ibrahimovic fit and raring to go following his recent Covid-19 diagnosis. The Swede was desperate to play at Celtic Park in front of a capacity crowd as he claimed fans 'deserved' to see him.
