Rangers-linked Jack Wilshere has stepped up his training as he targets a return to football in finding a new club.

The midfielder has been rumoured to be interested in a potential link-up with Steven Gerrard at Ibrox after he was released from his deal at West Ham earlier this summer.

Wilshere, 28, previously insisted on social media that he was fit and raring to go and new footage emerging has proven that to be the case as he took part in running and shooting drills with his organisation NCF Elites. He also previously shared a snap on Instagram keeping on top of his fitness levels, completing the equivalent of a 7km run on his treadmill. He shared the story simply saying: "Steady".

Fans of the Light Blues have bombarded social media with hopeful messages about Wilshere but it remains to be seen whether or not there will be any deal done. The England cap was on a reported £100,000 per week at London Stadium.

One report recently claimed Gers were in ‘advanced talks’ to bring the player to Ibrox. However, as yet, no deal has been done and it is not yet known whether any contact has been made between the club and the player.

The player spent two injury hit seasons at West Ham. He also counts Bournemouth and Bolton among his other former clubs.

We told recently how Wilshere posted a cryptic message on his Instagram with two hourglass emojis - hinting that he may be closing in on a move. Arsenal have been tipped to potentially move for their former academy starlet.
