Celtic host AC Milan in their first Europa League group game of the season at Parkhead on Thursday night.

The Hoops will be keen to get back on track against the Serie A club after losing to Old Firm rivals Rangers at the weekend.

Here, Herald and Times Sport has predicted Neil Lennon's starting line-up.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Vasilis Barkas

Could be in for a busy night facing Zlatan and co. Neil Lennon will expect more from the Hoops stopper after a shaky performance against Rangers last weekend.

Diego Laxalt

One of Celtic's better performers from Saturday. Will be a strange experience for him up against his parent club, but will hope to shine down the left and produce some pinpoint deliveries from the flank.

Kristoffer Ajer

Will want to show what he is all about after AC Milan chased his signature over the summer. One of his biggest tests to date with the strength of the Italian's frontline.

Shane Duffy

Suffered heartbreak in his first Glasgow derby and struggled to keep up with the pace of the game. Will need to ensure his distribution from the back and defending is up to scratch tonight.

Jeremie Frimpong

Has struggled to get forward as much as he would like in recent games, but tonight could be more of a defensive shift anyway. Expect him to start in a back four for the Hoops.

Callum McGregor

Never really got on the ball in the middle of the park at the weekend, but if Celtic want to have success tonight they need to go through him. AC Milan boss has tipped him as Celtic's best player in the build up.

Scott Brown

One of the Celtic players who would have felt Saturday's defeat to Rangers the most. Will be in from the start to ensure the team is riled up to get back to winning ways in their Europa League opener.

Mohamed Elyounoussi

Will be tasked with the job of supporting Albian Ajeti as much as possible. Will play wider than the weekend, which will suit him more than the central role.

Tom Rogic

Injuries and a lack of fitness have limited Rogic's minutes this season, but he has that big of magic that can win games. A big game for him if he is given the nod.

Ryan Christie

Back in the squad after his coronavirus self-isolation period. Was greatly missed against Rangers and could add the spark that Celtic desperately need to gain points from their Europa League fixture.

Albian Ajeti

Odsonne Edouard will once again miss out so expect Ajeti to be given the nod. The Swiss striker has returned a decent goal scoring record this campaign, but fitness still needs improvement according to Lennon.
