UFC legend Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone is Celtic's latest high-profile fan after being pictured in a Hoops cap.

The MMA icon posed for a photo alongside actor and Celtic-daft Gianni Capaldi as the latter was filming in New Mexico. Capaldi shared the photo and revealed Cerrone had become the newest member of the 'Celtic family'.

He posted on social media: "Welcome to the #CelticFamily #UFC legend & coolest cat in #NewMexico @CowboyCerrone. Up watching the #Celtic game whilst filming on #TheCommando. Happy to support @FoundationCFC  & @CelticFC. #COYBIG #Cowboy".

Thousands of Hoops fans were delighted to see the fighter in their colours and heaped praise on him, welcoming him to the group. One said: "Wow fantastic to see the big man with the hoops hat on. Always been a fan of the fight anyone anywhere Cowboy. He is a Cowbhoy now. Hail Hail."

Another added: "Always knew he wis a good guy," as one more wrote: "I love when my favourite things cross over. A fourth added: "Now I know why I always liked Cerrone."

Cerrone, 37, has an incredible 36 wins in professional MMA including big victories against the likes of Eddie Alvarez, Benson Henderson and Edson Barboza. He has also fought former double champ Conor McGregor and former Light Heavyweight interim champion Justin Gaethje.

But Cowboy is not the only UFC superstar with links to the Glasgow champions. The Notorious McGregor has been pictured training in Celtic gear in the past and is a fan of former defender Kieran Tierney. Coach of Anthony Pettis Duke Roufus is also a big Hoops fan and 29-0 fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov has also been pictured in a green and white jersey while training in Russia.
