BORNA BARISIC is confident Rangers will continue to improve this term as they look to build on their impressive start to the campaign.

Steven Gerrard's side are unbeaten in the Premiership and have a Europa League clash with Lech Poznan to look forward to on Thursday night.

The Gers set a new clean sheet record with seven consecutive shut-outs at the start of the league season and left-back Barisic is encouraged by their fine form in recent weeks.

“I’m happy and everyone is happy,” he told RangersTV.

“Right now we are in a very good position but we need to keep going and work hard to keep playing well. But I think right now we are in very good shape.

“I’m delighted, especially because I am part of the defensive line, but I think even in this situation we can improve. We have conceded three goals and we have analysed them so we know how we conceded them.

“So yes, I think we can improve in this area and in football it’s always about improving something.

"But from my perspective we have played very well defensively and I am happy because we broke some records.

“It’s a nice feeling. It’s not only about the back four and goalkeeper, it’s about the whole team and I think the whole team works to defend. I think it when the team plays well it’s easier for you to play well. I can say I enjoy it and you can see that on the pitch.

“It’s very nice now to be part of the Rangers team but I need to mention again that it is just the start of the season. The season is long and we have a lot of things to do. But we are now in our third year in a row together and we know each other better. It’s much easier now to play.”
