BONGANI ZUNGU is confident his move to Rangers will boost his international aspirations after he earned a recall to the South Africa squad.
The midfielder joined up with Steven Gerrard’s side for the first time on Wednesday morning as he got down to business at Ibrox following the end of his quarantine.
Zungu was this week handed a recall by boss Molefi Ntseki as he named his group for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers with Sao Tome on November 13 and 16.
Zungu told RangersTV: “It means a lot to me and I love playing for my country. We are growing as a nation and a team and we have some quality players in the team, players that are willing to succeed in Africa and also to go to World Cup.
“It means a lot to me. I love playing for South Africa and hopefully we can be successful.
“Of course, Rangers is a massive club and for me to be here, I should improve my qualities and improve as a player.
“That will help me get more calls up to the national team and hopefully help the team to reach greater heights.”
