Neil Lennon has revealed Kris Ajer is likely to miss this weekend's Scottish Cup semi-final clash with Aberdeen.
The Norwegian defender hobbled off against Lille in yesterday evening's Europa League draw. And the Celtic boss believes it will be touch-and-go for the 22-year-old to be fit in time to face the Dons at Hampden.
"He felt his groin go so it’s not great by the looks of things," Lennon said of his player. "We’ll need to see how long he’s out for but he looks a doubt for Sunday."
Ajer's injury amplifies Celtic's defensive shortage with Nir Bitton and Stephen Welsh the only two other options to replace Ajer should he be forced to sit out the semi-final. Hatem Abd Elhamed could also be fit for the game but having missed yesterday's clash in France, it is unknown at this time whether he will be available.
Christopher Jullien is also still out and remains abroad to fix a long-term issue.
