MOHAMED Salah has expressed his pride at equalling the European scoring record held by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
The striker netted in the 5-0 Champions League win over Atalanta on Tuesday night to move onto 21 goals in the competition.
Victory in Italy leaves the Reds five points clear at the top of Group D as they made it three wins from three this term.
“Of course I’m very happy to be the highest one," Salah said. "Steven Gerrard is a legend for the club. It’s something I’m very proud of.
“But as I’ve said before, the most important thing is the team. So I’m happy to score goals to help the team to win games, that’s the most important thing.”
