Former referee Dermot Gallagher insists Motherwell striker Devante Cole should have been given a red card for his reckless tackle on Jeremie Frimpong.
The Celtic defender was left in agony after the challenge and Neil Lennon has revealed that the Dutch-born star may have suffered ligament damage.
Gallagher was asked about the tackle on Sky Sports and he said: "I think both players are extremely lucky.
"I think Cole is lucky he didn't get a red card because the point of contact is really, really bad.
"And I think Frimpong is lucky he didn't suffer a serious injury.
"If his leg is planted, that's a very dangerous tackle.
"I just think the referee has read it wrong."
On the extent on Frimpong's injury, Neil Lennon said: “I don’t know if it is ligament damage yet. It’s sort of thigh, lateral side, we will have to get him looked at over the next couple of days.”
