Rangers could be set to welcome back Nikola Katic from long-term injury as early as January.
The Croatian centre-half has been out of action since pre-season, which threw a spanner in the works for the Ibrox side. Filip Helander, however, has since formed a partnership with Connor Goldson in defence. Alongside new signing Leon Balogun, they have only conceded three goals in 14 league games this term.
It will still be welcome news for Gers as they seek to end rivals Celtic's quest for 10 in a row and a Katic return would provide a significant boost.
Speaking to the Daily Record, his agent Ives Cakarun said: "All is going well.
"We hope Nikola will be ready for January. It was a big operation, cruciate ligaments and both meniscus."
It is not yet known whether Rangers' second Old Firm derby of the season on January 2 will be too early for Katic.
