BONGANI ZUNGU could return to the Rangers squad for their Europa League clash with Benfica on Thursday after missing the win over Aberdeen with a knee injury.
The midfielder picked up a knock during his appearances for South Africa during the international break and wasn't part of the Ibrox squad that clinched a 4-0 Premiership victory on Sunday.
Rangers return to continental competition this week when they host Benfica in a hugely important Group D clash.
And boss Steven Gerrard could have Zungu available once again as he looks to make his second appearance for the Gers.
Gerrard said: "He has got a knock on his knee that we are assessing and checking out at the moment. We don’t think it is big so you could see him on Thursday hopefully.
"But don’t be surprised if he takes a little bit longer. But it is not a big problem, it is only days rather than weeks or months."
