RANGERS PLAYER RATINGS

ALLAN MCGREGOR 6

Did well to save from Goncalo Ramos after a James Tavernier mistake only for his captain to turn the ball into his own net. Could do nothing about the well-worked Pizzi equaliser.

JAMES TAVERNIER 5

Headed onto the crossbar before the Scott Arfield opener. Struggled to contain Everton and Alex Grimaldo at times. At fault for the opening Benfica goal.

CONNOR GOLDSON 7

The centre half dealt with the threat posed by the Benfica front three.

LEON BALOGUN 8

Did superbly to slide in and block a Rafa Silva shot on goal at a crucial moment just before half-time. Made several well-timed tackles.

BORNA BARISIC 7

Set up the opening Rangers goal with one of his trademark deliveries from the left flank in the seventh minute and then supplied Roofe before the second.

STEVEN DAVIS 7

Northern Ireland’s record cap holder used all of his experience to help Rangers move into what should have been an unassailable lead.

GLEN KAMARA 8

Performed an important role in the middle of the park. Started the move that led to the second Rangers goal with a cheeky back heel.

SCOTT ARFIELD 7

Opened the scoring when he volleyed home powerfully in the seventh minute. Did well thereafter.

RYAN KENT 5

No shortage of effort from the winger. But he should have sewed up the win when he burst through on goal at 2-1.

ALFREDO MORELOS 7

Put in a power of work outside the box. Had a hand in the opening goal. Went close to netting late on.

KEMAR ROOFE 8

Forced a fine save from Helton Leite before the opening goal. Should have been awarded a penalty in the second-half. Then scored an absolute screamer.
