Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield has been nominated for Canada's player of the year award.

The Ibrox star has competition in the likes of Bayern Munich superstar Alphonso Davies and Lille's Jonathan David but has impressed in Light Blue this year.

Having scored six goals in 22 appearances this season, the 32-year-old certainly warrants a spot on the shortlist. In fact, since January 2020 Arfield has bagged 12 in all competitions. That form has now been recognised by the Canadian FA.

Arfield opened the scoring for Rangers in Thursday evening's 2-2 draw with Benfica in Europa League action.

The likes of ex-QPR ace Junior Hoilett,Ā Atiba Hutchinson of Besiktas and Red Star Belgrade's Milan Borjan.
