JACK WILSHERE admits a deal with Rangers wouldn't be his 'first choice' this season as he distanced himself from a move to Ibrox.
The midfielder is currently a free agent following his release from West Ham United at the end of the transfer window.
Wilshere has yet to put pen-to-paper on a move to kickstart his career but has acknowledged the attraction of playing for Steven Gerrard.
"It would interest me because it is Steven Gerrard, and that is no disrespect to Scotland." Wilshere told Dubai Eye radio.
"My grandad married a Scottish woman, like, 30 years ago. She is like my nan and that is all I have known growing up.
"Again, it never crossed my mind playing there. But now that Gerrard is there...
"The door definitely isn't closed but, at the same time, it wouldn't be my first choice."
