Former Dundee Utd boss Craig Levein insists it is easy to provoke a reaction from Rangers hot-head Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombia internationalist hit the headlines after appearing to strike Dundee United defender Mark Connolly with a swinging arm during the Gers 2-1 win on Sunday.
Referee Steven McLean only saw fit to flash a yellow card at Morelos.
And Levein reckons it is easy to ‘upset’ Morelos and accused the player of wanting to ‘settle the score’ with Connolly following some rough treatment earlier in the contest.
He said: “After one [hefty challenge], in particular, I actually saw Morelos take a wee note of who it was had challenged him.
“If you want to upset Morelos, it's not that difficult.
“All you need to do is - early in the match - leave something on him.
“He seems to bear grudges and want to equal the score as quickly as possible.
“That happened just before he threw a forearm.”
Asked whether the offence was worthy of a red card, Levein added: “I do.”
