Rangers may have been reliant on Alfredo Morelos to score the lion's share of goals last season, but Garry McAllister admits it's a relief to see his teammates step up this term.

Morelos notched 29 goals in all competitions last season before tailing off towards the end and his form has not fully recovered this campaign as yet. The likes of Kemar Roofe, James Tavernier and even Connor Goldson have all chipped in with their fair share of strikes, relieving some of the pressure on the Colombian.

McAllister believes the Ibrox side look far more dangerous going forward this year and he is pleased there are now more areas on the pitch from which Gers can score goals.

Asked about the difference between this season and last in terms of reliance on one player, Morelos, McAllister said: "That might have been levelled against us that we did rely on one player, I didn't quite see it like that, but what I would say now is that there has been a nice spread of goals throughout the team and that's a good thing.

"Competition for places is fierce, especially in the front area of the pitch but it is pleasing that goals are being spread right through the team. We look dangerous going into the final third in many different ways, rather than maybe being one dimensional."
