STEVEN GERRARD has praised the contribution of keeper Allan McGregor after he marked his 400th Rangers appearance with a clean sheet against St Mirren.
McGregor was able to celebrate the milestone with three points on Wednesday as Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos netted to maintain the Gers' lead at the top of the Premiership.
The 38-year-old has been a stalwart once again this season and Gerrard is keen for the shut-out record to continue against Celtic on Saturday.
Gerrard said: “Allan has been in great form. The clean sheet record this season has been really strong.
“We have defended really well against St Mirren, we were much better organised than the last time we played them.
“So, good for him keeping a clean sheet on his 400th appearance. Let’s hope he can keep another one on his 401st."
