RANGERS moved 19 points clear of Celtic thanks to their narrow victory at Ibrox last weekend, taking another significant step forward in the club's quest for a first top-flight title since 2011.
Neil Lennon's men still have an additional three games to play and could well close the gap with their rivals in the coming weeks, but the prospect of securing an historic tenth consecutive Premiership crown is looking more remote than ever after the chastening derby defeat.
The league leaders, meanwhile, have been in imperious form. Steven Gerrard's side have won 20 of their 22 fixtures of the Premiership campaign so far - drawing the other two - and have shipped just five goals along the way.
The men from Ibrox are only two points worse off than Brendan Rodgers' Celtic were at the same stage of their 'Invincibles' 2016/17 season - leading some to ask whether Gerrard can become the second manager to finish a Premiership season unbeaten.
