CELTIC look set to miss out on transfer target Mark McKenzie with the Philadelphia Union defender closing in on a £5million move to Belgian side Genk, according to reports.
The Parkhead club are likely to be on the lookout for a new centre-half with Christopher Jullien facing months sidelined through injury and Brighton loanee Shane Duffy failing to impress so far during his stint in Glasgow.
United States internationalist McKenzie has been on the Parkhead club's radar for a while now and only last month admitted he would consider a move to the Premiership champions.

Any potential deal now looks dead in the water though, with Sky Sports' Anthony Joseph reporting that negotiations between Genk and Philadelphia Union have been nearing a conclusion over the last few weeks.
The two parties are apparently close to agreeing a fee of around £5m for the defender's services, with the deal expected to be concluded before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
