DIEGO LAXALT has turned down a three-year deal with Saudi Arabian league leaders Al-Hilal because he sees his future in Europe, according to a report.

The AC Milan defender is on loan at Parkhead this season, with the Italian giants recently naming their price if Celtic want to make the deal a permanent one.

Sky Sports Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Al-Hilal made an approach for the Uruguyan, offering the wing-back a three-year deal worth almost three million euros a year.

But Laxalt rejected the offer - with Di Marzio claiming that Celtic remain the left-back's priority as he wants to remain in Europe.

"Diego Laxalt, who has been retiring in Dubai for a few days together with the rest of his team-mates, ended up in the crosshairs of Al-Hilal, a team currently in first position in their championship," the report says.

"The club has offered the player a three-year contract for almost 3 million euros per season, while waiting to speak with Milan. But the boy refused because he wants to continue playing in Europe.

"In fact, his priority remains Celtic, where he is playing continuously and is highly appreciated by the current technical staff."
