Kieran Tierney sold new Hibs goalkeeper Matty Macey on a move to the Scottish Premiership - where he could face Celtic on his debut.

The goalkeeper joined the Hibees on loan from Arsenal this morning and immediately revealed his teammate KT told him a move to Scotland could be exactly what he needs.

The Scotland cap has burst onto the scene in Mikel Arteta's first-team but still found time to convince Macey to make the switch to Edinburgh where he will go straight into the squad for Monday evening's crunch clash against Tierney's beloved former employers.

Macey told the club website: "I spoke to Kieran at length about the opportunity to come to Hibs, about Scottish football and the country in general. Kieran was really positive about every aspect of it, whether it was the club or Edinburgh itself.

"As I said, I was already keen to come but it was good to hear him talk so enthusiastically about it all. He backed up the gut feeling I had. Kieran’s someone I have a lot of time for and he’s probably one of the first names on the team-sheet – if not the first – at Arsenal just now."

Ofir Marciano is injured while Hibs lost Dillon Barnes who was recalled to QPR last week.
