STEVEN GERRARD could offer up one of his Rangers fringe stars in exchange for Scott Wright as he looks to clinch a deal for the Aberdeen forward.

Rangers are closing in on a Bosman agreement that would see Wright head to Ibrox at the end of his Dons contract in the summer.

Striker Greg Stewart is one player who could become part of the deal this month, while midfielder Ross McCrorie - who is set to move to Pittodrie in a £350,000 switch next season - could also come into the calculations.

Gerrard said: "The money men will talk and I'm sure in the conversations they will have everything on the table in terms of possibilities to try to get this done in the coming weeks.

"There are different options. There's a possibility of one of our players going the other way.

"There is a possibility of cash up front and I don't know where the Ross McCrorie deal lies in terms of what needs to be done and what doesn't. But I'm sure that's another possibility as well."
