Ryan Jack has told of his delight at finally being back on the training pitch after almost two months.

The Rangers midfielder has not featured in any capacity for the Ibrox outfit since November 22 when he played against his former side Aberdeen in a  4-0 win at home. The player damaged his knee and has missed big games including the 1-0 win over Celtic on January 2.

Manager Steven Gerrard today confirmed that he is on the mend and on his way back, but Jack went a step further and shared a photo on Instagram with a ball at his feet.

Glasgow Times:

He said: "Delighted to be back with the team", on his story accompanied by a blue love heart.

In fairness to Rangers their form has proved that they have not missed Jack too much, opening up a 21 point lead over rivals Celtic. But Gerrard insists he is delighted to have his main man in the engine room back among the group.

He did, however, warn that the club must 'manage Jack differently' to get him back to his fittest and best. "Some players need a little bit more attention in terms of recovery and offloading at the right times," Gerrard said. "Jacko is a difficult one because he is so important, he is a player that we rate very much and I don’t think I have to go on record to tell you guys what I think of him and what we think of him because I have done it so many times.

"His consistency levels have been superb. It is a difficult one because you want him in the team as much as possible and he wants to be in the team as much as possible.

"It is something we have spoken to Ryan about, it is something we have had conversations with Steve Clarke about and the reality is that Ryan does need looking after differently to some other players.

"It is something we will keep an eye on and try and make him available as much as we can because he is so important to both club and country, especially at this stage."
