Ally McCoist delivered a brilliant response to Chris Sutton after the Celtic hero dared bring up the notion of this season potentially being declared null and void.
SPFL chief Neil Doncaster refused to rule out the possibility of the campaign being voided should the coronavirus pandemic worsen, with Rangers currently 21 points clear of their rivals at the top of the table.
Manager Steven Gerrard dismissed the possibility of voiding the league this term earlier today, but it did not prevent BT Sport's Scottish football show addressing the situation. When host Darrell Currie asked McCoist if the league is won already, the Gers hero said: "Never, not until it's mathematically impossible."
Null and void? 🤔 Behave yourselves!

"I could almost feel the desperation coming through my screen! The anxiety! The tears!" 😆
Ally McCoist won't accept Rangers have won the title yet...
But @chris_sutton73 insists you ought to hand Steven Gerrard's side the title now! 🏆 pic.twitter.com/getkn6J89M
And that's when Sutton decided to have some fun of his own, bringing up the null and void scenario. But, like Sutton, McCoist is known for his wit and humour, and he decided to have a go at the Englishman, sarcastically adding: "I can almost feel the desperation coming through my screen, the anxiety, the tears. I can feel it all! Give that man a cuddle immediately!
"I'm going to write you a letter to make you feel better or something."
As the pair laughed, Sutton went on to claim the governing body should hand Rangers the trophy NOW as Celtic will never catch them. "Rangers have been excellent all season but the front line at times haven't fired," he said. "They're so far ahead in the title race, they should hand Rangers the title now. On a serious note, all this null and void nonsense from Neil Doncaster, there'd be an outcry if that was the case and quite rightly so after what happened last season.
"Rangers have won the league and Celtic have to accept it and I think most of the Celtic fans do."
