The SFA have written to Scottish Championship clubs asking if they’d rather suspend the league or continue playing.
League One and League Two have already been suspended for three weeks as the Covid pandemic continues to grip the country and the sport.
New updated testing protocols have been introduced in the Championship which has incurred extra costs to clubs.
And SFA chief Ian Maxwell has now written to all clubs in the second tier to gauge their opinion on whether or not to keep playing.
BBC Scotland report that Maxwell wrote: "One SPFL championship club has publicly taken the position that all football should be suspended.
"The Scottish FA would like to understand the position of your club… please confirm if you are content to continue under the current exemption or whether your club considers that the Championship should be suspended."
It comes as SPFL boss Neil Doncaster refused to rule out a potential null and void declaration for the Premiership earlier this week.
