Eddie Howe is now favourite to replace Steve Bruce at Newcastle AND Neil Lennon at Celtic.

Betting was suspended on the former Bournemouth boss replacing under-fire Lennon at Parkhead by TWO bookies yesterday. Both Paddy Power and Betfair stopped taking bets on Celtic hiring the Englishman as odds went as short as 1/10 after punters heaped cash on.

Fans can still throw their money at Howe become Newcastle boss if Steve Bruce is punted as he moves into favourite for that role at 7/2 with most odds-makers.

Other managers touted as possible replacements include Rafa Benitez, Steve Cooper and Andre Villas Boas.

Laurent Blanc and Alan Shearer are also on the bookies' list of potential managers.

Bruce remains in the job at this time, though it is not certain how long he might last with the Magpies sitting 15th without a win in 10 matches.

Howe has been out of work since leaving the Cherries last summer following their relegation from the Premiership to the second tier.
