Kevin Kyle says Shane Duffy must 'disappear' to allow Celtic to have a prosperous end to their disastrous season.

The Hoops are 20 points behind Rangers with the latter set to play St Johnstone at home this evening and look to regain their 23 point lead. The Parkhead side's season could hardly have gone any worse and Kyle believes Duffy has played a big role in the nightmare.

The Irishman has been criticised from all angles this term and ex-Rangers striker Kyle insists it's like his confidence has been 'zapped' from him, despite being a Premier League player.

And, speaking on Open Goal, Kyle reckons it's time for Duffy to move on. "Shane Duffy has lost all the confidence he had,” he said. “I don’t think he has become a bad player overnight, it’s just not worked out for him.

"For whatever reason, his confidence has been zapped out of him.

“He needs to just disappear, bring in what you can and try to have a positive end to the season – so they can hit the ground running next season. If they don’t, they might be trying to catch Rangers again.”
