RANGERS manager Steven Gerrard has been installed as the second favourite candidate by the bookies to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool - whenever the German leaves the club.
Klopp guided Liverpool to victory in the 2019 edition of the Champions League, as well as ending the Premier League club's agonising 30-year wait for the English top-flight title last season.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss has found things a little more different this time around though, with the Reds 10 points adrift of leaders Manchester City having played an extra game.

Klopp retains the goodwill of supporters and the club's board and it seems improbable that the 53-year-old will be leaving Liverpool shortly, but that hasn't stopped fans speculating about who his successor could be when the time comes.
Pep Lijnders, Klopp's assistant at Anfield, is the favourite with Betfair to land the gig once the current manager moves on at 6/4, followed closely by Gerrard at 5/2.
The former Liverpool captain has regularly been linked with a return to his old stomping ground as manager at some point in the future and with Rangers on the brink of the club's first title in 10 years, Gerrard's stock is on the rise.
The 40-year-old, who famously captained Liverpool to a dramatic victory in the 2005 Champions League final against AC Milan, took charge in Govan with the club languishing behind Celtic in the table and unable to make a dent in European competition.

Under Gerrard's watch, however, the Glasgow side have qualified for the group stages of the Europa League on three occasions and twice made it through to the knockout stage.
Gerrard has yet to win any silverware with Rangers but a league crown is a near certainty this term with Celtic lagging 21 points behind in the standings, albeit having played two fewer games.
