This is the moment Celtic star Hatem Elhamed was reunited with his son ahead of a permanent move back home.

The Hoops defender is poised to join Hapoel Be'er Sheva after recently admitting his homesickness. And he touched down in Israel alongside agent Dudu Dahan earlier this evening.

Immediately he was rushed by his little boy as he left the airport, and Dahan - who posted a heartwarming clip - said: "Hatem just landed in [Israel] #noplacelikehome".

The centre-half is close to a deal taking him back home on a long-term deal after manager Neil Lennon confirmed he had simply struggled to adapt to life in Glasgow due to the pandemic and his family being unable to secure permits.

Lennon said: ""A deal's been agreed with Be'er Sheva. I don't know if it has been finalised. He was going through a really difficult time, his wife and son were back in Israel and he was here on his own and he was really struggling with life away from the training ground and stadium.

“We have to take into consideration the human factor on that. I wouldn't say he was suffering with depression, but he was very low, so we have made the right decision for him and the club. I think their transfer window is open, so there are no issues with that."
