The Hoops have already started planning for next season after Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Liam Shaw agreed to a summer switch to Glasgow, with Lennon adding that the club are pressing on with transfer business and hoping to conclude some more deals.

But the Northern Irishman's pursuit of Brady has hit a snag after Dyche admitted that the Clarets are in talks to keep him - as well as other players whose deals are runnning out - tied down at Turf Moor on a longer contract.

He said: "The talks with all players are ongoing, no matter what level of contact they’ve got - other than the lads which have just literally signed.

"But as soon as they’re a little bit into their contract we always keep tabs with their agents and the players to let them know, so that one will work itself out.

"It's not always hard work and it’s an interesting way of putting it. Often it’s just ‘will you accept that? No, yes, okay, done.

"It’s not always hard work, it’s just simple conversations that are open and then you try and get the right outcome.

"If you can hit the right outcome financially, and most of the players here, not all, but most of them are satisfied with what we try and do here, their life here and the enjoyment they have from being here and wanting to be productive.

"But they still command a certain level of contract and we try and do what we can to make sure they’re happy and feel settled at the club and ready to play for the club."
