The odds-makers, in their usual tongue-in-cheek fashion, were quick to stick the boot in to Scotland's Euro 2020 hopes - and suggested Celts may wait to announce any managerial movement until Scotland 'bomb out the Euros' this summer.

A spokesman for Paddy Power told Glasgow Times Sport: "Rafa Benitez remains the favourite to be next Celtic manager – dreams can still come true – but he’s now joint-favourite, alongside Scotland manager Steve Clarke, with each man priced at 11/10.

"Putting my tin foil hat on, it would make sense why the Celtic board are waiting to dispense of the incumbent manager – they want his replacement to bomb out of the Euros first this summer."

We told how Eddie Howe, Benitez and Frank Lampard have all been linked with the job should it become available. And there were big odds movement on Lennon and Celtic captain Scott Brown.
