RANGERS PLAYER RATINGS

ALLAN MCGREGOR 6

Could do little about the Lior Refaelov goal in the first-half. A lack of communication with Connor Goldson allowed Didier Lamkel Ze to net in the second.

LEON BALOGUN 3

Started out of position at right back and struggled against Jordan Lukaku. Let the wing back supply Refaelov for the equaliser. Booked for a foul on Lamkel Ze and will be unavailable for the first leg of the last 16 double header. Failed to reappear for the second-half.

CONNOR GOLDSON 6

Wasn’t far away with a header at a Borna Barisic corner at 1-1. Collided with McGregor at the Lamkel Ze header.

FILIP HELANDER 6

Decent. But could he have blocked Refaelov at the visitors’ first goal?

BORNA BARISIC 7

The Croatian left back had been the hero in Belgium seven days earlier with two goals from the penalty spot. He just got the one last night. But he took it well.

STEVEN DAVIS 7

The experienced central midfielder was a calming presence for Rangers in the middle of the park.

GLEN KAMARA 6

The midfielder pressed relentlessly and used the ball intelligently. But he switched off at a Refaelov pass to Pieter Gerkens just before half-time and was lucky Lukaku then hit the side netting.

JOE ARIBO 5

Allowed Refaelov to barge him out of the way just before the Israeli netted. Aribo is a creative player who is a threat going forward, but he must do better defensively.

IANIS HAGI 7

Applied good pressure to Maxime Le Marchand before the opening goal. Got a powerful shot on target from an acute angle in the first-half. Looked dangerous whenever he got on the ball.

RYAN KENT 8

Did superbly to pinch possession off Jeremy Gelin and set up Alfredo Morelos for the opener in the first-half. Slotted home a cut back from the striker after half-time to make it 3-1.

ALFREDO MORELOS 9

Brilliant. Netted the first to take his European tally to 23. Showed great sportsmanship to stop play when Gelin pulled up injured. Set up his side’s second and third goals. Then won a late penalty that Barisic converted.

SUBSTITUTES

NATHAN PATTERSON (for Balogun, 46) 7

Made his first appearance since being forced to self-isolate after breaking Covid-19 lockdown regulations - and scored his first goal for Rangers within seconds. Buried his attempt brilliantly. Did better than Balogun had thereafter and showed he has a big future at Ibrox despite his recent foolishness.

SCOTT ARFIELD (for Hagi, 71) 3

Helped his side see out the triumph.

BONGANI ZUNGU (for Davis, 82) 2

Another to make his first appearance since breaching coronavirus rules.

SCOTT WRIGHT (for Kent, 83) 4

Made his European debut for Rangers. Won a spot kick.

CEDRIC ITTEN (for Morelos, 85) 4

Rounded off the rout with a penalty.
