Michael Beale has revealed he plans to make it on his own as a head coach one day - but only after bringing success to Rangers with Steven Gerrard.

The first-team coach has been praised by a whole host of players including Andy Halliday who claimed he could see the Englishman as Ibrox boss himself down the line.

Beale, who counts Chelsea, Liverpool and Sao Paolo in Brazil among his former employers, has never hidden the fact that he wants to become his own man in the future. And perhaps as has so often been predicted this season, he may do exactly that should Steven Gerrard go on to become Liverpool manager when Jurgen Klopp departs.

The latter point, Beale admits, is a genuine possibility. But until he achieves what he set out to achieve at Ibrox, Beale is fully focused on the Light Blues. "I find it difficult to predict the future, you must live today and try to be the best coach possible," he told ESPN Brazil

"At the moment, Klopp is one of the five best coaches in the world, and the best coach for Liverpool is Jurgen Klopp. I worked closely with him as an under-23 coach, and he is fantastic for the players and his coaching staff. He has done an incredible job so far.

"In the future, if Steven Gerrard can continue to be a success, win trophies and gain experience, then it is possible that Liverpool will be his future. But every coach in the world dreams of leading a team like Liverpool. So let's see what the future brings.

"I have a desire to work outside the UK again in the future, I am very happy to work with Steven Gerrard and I believe that we have a few more years together before I decide to be a coach on my own. But it is my plan to be a coach for myself in the future. But I am not concerned with that today. I just want to win here with Rangers first."
