STEVEN GERRARD reckons victory over Livingston was further proof of Rangers' evolution this season as they moved another step closer to the Premiership title.
Rangers are now a maximum of four points away from the silverware after Alfredo Morelos netted the only goal of the game at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
But Gerrard's side could be crowned champions this weekend if they beat St Mirren and Celtic fail to see off Dundee United on Sunday.
Rangers remain unbeaten in the Premiership this term and Gerrard was delighted with another hard-fought but deserved victory against David Martindale's side.
Gerrard said: “It might not be four? We just need to win the next game and take maximum points and we'll see what happens from there.
“We just need to keep winning. We need to rest now. The game will come on us pretty fast. We'll make a few changes for the weekend and we'll get ready for St Mirren.

“I think we've showed all season that we've evolved. We're ready to compete and challenge.
“We've showed a tremendous level of consistency. We came here early in the season and played everything in front of Livingston.

"We didn't have a cutting edge. We never asked enough questions. Tonight we did.
“I thought the game was going to go away from us and it would be two points dropped. But I think we got what we deserved.

“You can't question the fight and the spirit and determination to win games in this group now. It's ready to do that.

“There's nothing wrong with winning 1-0. I've seen all the top sides over the years do it, go to difficult places that are challenging.
“Davie was on a 15-game unbeaten streak at one point. This is a difficult place to come and we've got respect for that.
“They've just come out of a cup final and Davie demanded a reaction, you could see that in their performance.
“But it's about finding a way to win and we did. It came late but if the officials had done the right thing it might have come earlier.
