LEICESTER CITY reckon they've won the race to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer - according to reports in England.
Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers knows the player well, having initially brought the Frenchman to Glasgow in a £9million move from Paris Saint-Germain back in 2018 following a successful loan spell at the club.
The 23-year-old has went from strength to strength in that time though, regularly turning out for France's Under-21 side and clocking up over 150 appearances for the Hoops - banging in more than 80 goals along the way.
Those performances have reportedly caught the eye of bigger clubs, and Edouard has a long list of admirers based all around Europe.
Celtic's top scorer this season suffered a dip in form as the January transfer window opened, with the striker apparently unsettled and keen to push through a move.
Manager Neil Lennon revealed last month that Edouard "had issues going on in the first half of the season", adding that the French forward "felt he missed out on a potential move".
With the talented forward's contract set to expire at the end of next season, the Parkhead club will need to cash in on their prize asset this summer or risk losing him for nothing in a year's time.
That means that the Hoops will likely have to settle for a fee substantially lower than the £30million valuation they slapped on Edouard last year - with the Daily Mail reporting that Leicester now believe they are at the front of the queue to secure his signature.
But the bosses in Glasgow's east end will have to settle for just £15million, according to the Mail - HALF of what they would have hoped to receive less than one year ago.
The report adds that a deal is "close" to being struck and claims that Edouard has "indicated" that he would like to seal a reunion with his old boss Rodgers.

It is believed that Celtic's No.22 is being lined up as a long-term replacement for Leicester legend Jamie Vardy, who turned 34 at the start of the year.
