ALFREDO Morelos today admitted he was very happy that "champions" Rangers had moved to within a point of winning their first Scottish title in 10 years thanks to a 3-0 win over St Mirren at Ibrox.
Morelos scored the second goal in the first-half of the Premiership match to take his tally for the 2020/21 campaign to 15 and his side to within the brink of landing the league trophy.
If Celtic fail to beat Dundee United at Tannadice tomorrow afternoon then their Glasgow rivals will clinch it without kicking a ball.
If the quadruple treble winners triumph on Tayside then the runaway top flight leaders will just need to draw at Parkhead in their next match on Sunday, March 21, in order to prevail.
Speaking to Rangers TV after the game, Man of the Match Morelos said: "I am very happy today. The team played well again, champions. I am very, very happy for the team. I enjoyed today. Now we will focus on the next game.
Asked how he felt he was playing personally, Morelos said: "I am very happy. Every game I score or get an assist. Every game is the same - I give 100 per cent and play well for the team. It is good for me."
