Chris Sutton has leapt to the defence of former rivals Rangers after they beat St Mirren this afternoon and closed in on the title.
Gers beat their opponents 3-0 at Ibrox and are now one win away from lifting the trophy. They can actually mathematically seal the Premiership this weekend should Celtic drop points away to Dundee Utd tomorrow, but that did not stop Sutton backing the Light Blues.
In a BBC 5 Live Sport conversation, one supporter called in and questioned Gers' achievement this season, asking: "Can you really call it unbelievable Chris?"

But Sutton was having none of it when the man - named Ross - declared it more of an achievement seeing Norwich gain promotion to the Premier League at the first time of asking than seeing Steven Gerrard's side win their title.
The Hoops legend responded: "Yes, I can because Celtic were so far ahead and we can talk about Celtic imploding but you can’t take anything away from Rangers.
“I think they’ve conceded nine goals in the league this season. They haven’t just pipped Celtic. This league title was over in November and that’s a credit to Steven Gerrard and the belief he's given the Rangers squad. They've been phenomenal. So I would [call it exceptional]."
