Scott Brown has been asked if he would consider taking up the position of Aberdeen's player/assistant manager IF Stephen Glass gets the main job.
Glass is the frontrunner to replace Derek McInnes who departed the club after eight years this week.
Currently the boss of Atlanta Utd's reserve team, former Dons, Newcastle and Hibs midfielder Glass is understood to be keen on the role in the Granite City.
And Herald and Times Sport understands he has approached Brown's representatives to feel out whether the Celtic captain would be interested in the role should it become a possibility.
Brown's contract expires at the end of the season but it is not yet known whether the Hoops skipper will pen a new deal.
The Scottish Sun claim Glass would also be hoping to bring with him England coach Allan Russell who would stick with the national team and Gareth Southgate during international weeks.
