STEVEN GERRARD insists Rangers will take 'time to breathe' before getting round the negotiating table with their Premiership title winners this summer.
Rangers returned to action in the aftermath of their crowning as champions at the weekend with a 1-1 draw away to Slavia Prague on Thursday night.
A first half strike from Filip Helander and world class late stop from Allan McGregor could prove decisive in the tie as Rangers set their sights on a place in the quarter-finals of the Europa League this term.

McGregor is one of a host of Ibrox stars that Gerrard is keen to talk to regarding an extension to his deal and midfielder Steven Davis is also out of contract at the end of the campaign.
The likes of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson and Glen Kamara could also be in line for fresh terms with the champions.

But Gerrard and Sporting Director Ross Wilson are in no rush to start negotiations whilst Rangers have domestic and European ambitions in mind.
Gerrard said: "Listen, I think we just need time to breathe. It's only days and hours after a league title win, the first in ten years.
"Everyone is on an incredible high and this game has come around extremely quick. We have managed to set it up nicely for next week.

"We're well aware of all the players' contracts and where they sit, and what we need to do.
"In the right time we we'll go to people we want to improve or extend deals. Myself, Ross and the board are all aware of that. But we need time to breathe first.
"A wee bit late! It's just one of these things.

"You react to it, see it, stick your hand out, hope it doesn't go in and it never. Happy days!"

"Those moments will come. we don't have a game at the weekend and then we have an international break on the horizon. Then it's the summer.
"In time people will be rewarded for what they have given the club over the last three years."
