A new contender for the Celtic manager's job has emerged as ODDS-ON favourite.

Sacked Sheffield Utd boss Chris Wilder is the new name on the list after he left the Blades this afternoon. Becoming a new potential manager on the shortlist, fans flocked to bookies to lump cash on the Englishman.

And he is now as short as 4/6 favourite to replace Neil Lennon at Parkhead.

Betfair spokesman Sam Rosbottom said: "Despite Sheffield United's poor form this season, it is clear that Chris Wilder will be a wanted man when he leaves Bramall Lane - and it is no surprise to see him installed as the odds on 4/6 favourite to take over the reigns at Celtic Park."

Wilder left Sheffield Utd in bottom place in the Premier League, adrift of their closest rivals but he did guide them to a ninth-place finish last season.

He replaces John Kennedy as favourite for the Celtic job, while Eddie Howe has drifted, as has Rafa Benitez and Frank Lampard.

We told how Roy Keane recently had his odds slashed.
