Former Rangers manager Walter Smith is currently recovering from an operation in hospital.
The club confirmed the news for supporters this afternoon.
They also called for privacy for Smith's family.
A short statement read: "Rangers Football Club can confirm Walter Smith had an operation on Monday and he is currently recovering in hospital. His family have requested privacy at this time."
Legendary Ibrox manager Smith won an incredible 21 trophies in an impressive haul and took the club to the Uefa Cup final in 2008.
He also enjoyed a spell as Scotland boss before leaving the post and heading back to Ibrox in 2007.
