RB Salzburg manager Jesse Marsch has admitted that he is interested in the vacant managerial position at Celtic.
Marsch has been touted for the Parkhead role by a number of top pundits after Neil Lennon stepped down last month.
The American is on course to guide Austrian side Salzburg to a second succesive league and cup double and he admits the links with Celtic are an "honour".
He told the BBC: "I've heard [about the links]. It's an honour for me.
"Three or four years ago, being linked with a club like Celtic would literally be an impossibility for me.
"And now that this is where I am, I always just try to look at it in terms of, 'what would the project look like?'
"Would we have similar ideas in how to build it the right way, invest in the academy, invest in young players and create this development process that I'm talking about? And not just focus on winning.
"Obviously I know that when you're the coach of Celtic, winning is the most important thing."
Discussing the Parkhead position, Marsch added: "I know enough about it to say of course it's interesting.
"It's an amazing club and it would be an honour to even be considered. But I also have a job to do here.
"My way of working is really to focus in on the job that I'm doing and concentrate on the moment.
"And the more that I do that the more other possibilities can arise."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
