Steven Gerrard has revealed that Ryan Jack will miss Rangers' return leg against Slavia Prague in the Europa League.
The midfielder missed last week's game due to a calf strain and he is now a doubt for the Old Firm derby this weekend.
Gerrard confirmed that a decision will still have to be made on Jack ahead of the Celtic clash and he also detailed discussions with Scotland boss Steve Clarke.
He said: "I've spoken to Steve Clarke on Ryan Jack and a number of players but that will remain private. Ryan (Jack) won't be involved tomorrow.
"I've got every confidence that Nathan (Patterson) will reach the Scotland squad at some point but there is certainly no rush at this stage in his career.
"We are ready for another tough game against a fantastic, well-organised team. It will be a great game and a tough match we are really looking forward to.
"We realised it was a very tough place to go, we have set up the tie well for Ibrox and given ourselves a real good opportunity, having said that we will have to perform much better to get through. It is a great 50/50 tie.
"We have to show we are a good team at home and play with our belief and confidence. We never kept the ball for long enough periods last week. I want us to come out the blocks quicker and show we can play both sides of the game.
"At this stage in the competition you have to have respect for every team left. They showed they are a very fit and powerful team, we have every respect for this team but we have no fear and we are here because we deserve to be here."
Gerrard also sent his well wishes to Ibrox legend Walter Smith after it was confirmed earlier this week that he was in hospital following an operation.
He added: "Everyone at the club wishes Walter (Smith) well, I spoke to his family privately. Everyone is right behind him wishing him well."
