Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has urged Moussa Dembele to find his form this season after a poor start to his La Liga career.

The Frenchman has not yet performed to his best for Atleti who lead their rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid by four and six points respectively.

Dembele, former Celtic striker, joined the club on loan from Lyon this term with a view to a potential permanent switch in a deal worth what could be around £32.5million. But manager Simeone has fired the player a warning as the season nears its conclusion.

The Argentine said: "I always say that the number of minutes is not important. What matters is the quality of these minutes. I hope that Dembele can bring us what we hoped for when he arrived in the team."

The forward has played just four games since joining his new side, all from the bench, and he's yet to score.

His move was hampered by injury and he tested positive for Covid-19 a short time after making the switch.

Celtic, meanwhile, will be hoping their former hitman can find his feet as the club are due a 10 percent sell-on clause should he switch clubs, that could land them a cool £3million plus.
